CAMARINHA Project in Moledo do Minho

The CAMARINHA Project is carried out by Corema - Association of Heritage Defense with assistance from INIAV- portuguese instirute of agriculture and veterinary, since the beginning of this project as a member I have joined the awareness-raising actions with schools and the local population.

Because dunes are the first step of shifting land, the plants that inhabit them are brave pioneers, as the instability of winds and sea is demanding. However, people in their summer reverie ignore this fragility and often end up stepping on, in their rush to get to the beach, what are actually botanical relics. We've erected awareness signs at the entrance to the dunes, buried posts, and encircled them with ropes, but even so, paths continue to appear constantly, outside the usual passageways.

Because awareness raising is being done among locals, but it doesn't seem to reach everyone, I made this video for the association, which shows one of these actions with the Caminha School and also identifies some of the dune plants, their functions in the dunes and needs.
